What do windows have to do with ecology?
Well there is a great choice of types and features of products that you can decide to purchase.
Making the right choice can help save our planet.
Passive houses and positive houses
Buildings are responsible for 40 % of the energy consumed in Europe. But by 2010, over 1/5 of these buildings' energy consumption could be saved. This is why more ambitious norms for new and existing buildings and the development of new forms of construction such as the passive house need to be considered.
Passive houses are the result of the concept of right materials, insulation and optimised ventilation which allow for much lower energy consumption. That houses need less than 15 kWh/m2 per year for heating and consume a maximum of 42 kWh/m2 per year (heating, hot water, electricity) in energy. In comparison, regular buildings consume close to 400 kWh/m2/year on average. Certain constructions can even produce more energy than they consume: they are called Positive houses. They have PV panels installed on the roof, special lighting which encourages natural light, manage rain water, etc.
Drewexim offer a full range of energy-effective and passive windows and doors.
Usage of local products

Purchasing domestic or local products will reduce fuel consumption and emission of CO2.
Drewexim for its windows and doors uses Polish pinewood from the local forests.
Avoid chemicals
Reduce the usage of chemicals and synthetic products to reduce poluttion.
Drewexim uses either water-based paints or oils for the treatment of the windows and doors.
Say NO to plastic
Avoid disposable plastic bags, packaging, plastic products.
Drewexim offers a wide range of long-lasting wooden, aluminium and wooden-aluminium windows and doors.
Say NO to deforestation of natural forests
Deforestation is one of the main reasons for the Greenhouse effect. The trees remove CO2 from the air and release oxygen. They absorb groundwater throught their roots and spread it into the atmosphere. Forests are homes for wildlife.
Drewexim offers FSC certified windows and doors so that we all make sure the wood does not come from the wild forests but only from a certified and well-managed sources where more trees is planted than cut.
But what could every man on earth do to help save our planet?
turn your lights off and use natural light to use less electricity,
turn your heating down to use less gas or oil,
cook multiple items at the same time so that you turn your oven on only once a day instead of four times,
turn the water off when you brush your teeth,
reuse items - for their original purpose or by finding new uses for things you already own, by doing this you are not consuming any more of the world's precious resources,
recycling - many cities offer free recycling, collect paper, glass, cans, etc.,
replace your incandescent light bulbs with fluorescent bulbs.
Many people worry that living green will cost you money; however most of the above ideas will actually save you money.
